Goma Is Homez!

Thank you all for your prayers and support during this crisis. Thanks for all the very helpful tips and advice! Also it was very good to know I am not the only one go through this ordeal, urinary blockage. It really gave me hope that Goma will be okay...so thank you all so much!! Goma is such a lucky cat to have so many people praying and loving him!!!

Oh what a weekend! This has been one of the toughest weekend for us...Goma stayed overnight at the Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists. The folks at the BEVS did such a good job taking care of Goma, he recovered pretty quickly. When I called around 10am today, they told us that his catheter is removed and if he can pee himself then he will be able to go home around 5pm. I called around 2pm and the Vet said everything looks good so we picked him up and now he is with us safe and sound!! He was not eating at the hospital but as son as I gave him new wet food(Prescription diet S/D) and little bit of bonito flakes the he started to eat!! That's good news. He seems drinking too! Since he came back he already went to litter box like 3 times and each time he is urinating fine.

Here is a little hart-warming story at the BEVS:

I have never guessed it but somehow people at BEVS knew about Goma!! Hw do I know? Because they put up some of the Goma sketches above his cage for him!! It was so sweet because I never expected this at all! Normally we are not allowed to go in to see his cage but they let us too! That was really nice. Thank you so much everyone at BEVS for the very best personal care!!

I am just thankful that he made it through this painful and probably the most traumatic experience in his life. I know he's been through a lot past 24 hours... when we became alone in my house, I just held him close my arms and told him how much I missed him, and I am so thankful that he came back to me. And we just closed our eyes and went to sleep. I could hear his fast but steady heartbeat, I was just to glad to be able to hear that. Thanks everyone again for the prayers! I will keep you guys updated as Goma recover from this!!

So glad you're home and feeling better, Goma! That was so sweet of the nurses to put your pictures up. I bet that helped you get better so quickly (I was in hospital for 3 nights when I got my crystals)!

Now, you let Sachie give you lots of cuddles, 'cos you gave her a big scare!

I'm really glad to hear Goma is fine, I was so worried for him!!
My cat had the same shaved little arm...
The Vet staff was rly sweet to let you in :) Mine did the same as Moka wouldnt eat without me and my bf by his side (he had to stay 4 nights)
Don't forget to hug a lot your little baby and to check his belly on a regular basis (touch the low part of his belly to check if its hard and swollen). I wish Goma an happy and LONG healthy life by your side :)

That is such a scary ordeal, I went through a less serious bout when my cat was still alive (it was his hips, not bladder that gave out, don't worry!). I am so glad that handsome Goma is okay and I'll keep praying for him :)

Welcome home Goma! We were all so worried about you. Our Mom had a boy cat a long time ago that had this problem so we know how worried your Mom was. Take care!

I am so happy Goma is feeling better! Last night I was thinking about you and Goma, and I know how hard it it when a good friend is sick, how much you worry. I held my cat Henry close to me and gave him extra kisses because I was so very thankful to have him, and then I told him all about Goma, and warned him not to get clogged, but if he did, to be as vocal about it as Goma was to you!

Keep feeling better, Goma!

It's so wonderful that the BEVS folks put up some Goma sketches over his cage.

Thanks so much to those of you who were so kind and supportive !! Luckily, my obsession with checking on a regular basis my cat's belly paid off. (and of course all the purrs and prayers helped a lot too !!!! - thanks again!!)
The vet said Moka was fine. The blockage wasnt complete and he even peed at the vet like a big boy without the catheter. The urine test proved that he started having struvite, but he is now taking pills to relax him (and help him get those things out of his bladder) and he also have pills to disolve them too !! (and antibiotics). He wont need to be hospitalised !!!
